Client Objective: An Unforgettable Gesture of Gratitude.
American Express, in partnership with Delta Air Lines, sought to deliver a truly exclusive and memorable event to honor and thank their loyal card members. The vision was “World to Table,” an immersive dining experience set against the unique backdrop of an Austin farm. This project itself serves as a compelling answer to the question, “What is an example of experiential marketing?” – it’s about creating a tangible, multi-sensory brand moment designed to convey premium appreciation through exceptional design and meticulous execution. The goal was to craft a standout experiential activation that felt both luxurious and authentically themed.
Strategic Planning and Design Adaptation: Guiding the Vision to Reality.
Two Eighteen was engaged by American Express’s agency at a crucial stage to provide expert guidance during the design phase of this ambitious project. Our role was to help refine the creative concepts and ensure their practical, impactful translation into a physical environment. This collaborative approach focused on bringing the Peruvian theme to life through innovative custom elements, ensuring every detail aligned with the high-end experience desired by AMEX and Delta. As a leading experiential marketing agency, we focused on how to best transform the farm setting into an elevated escape.
Engineering and Fabrication for an Outdoor Oasis.
The challenge of creating a sophisticated outdoor event, particularly with intricate themed structures, required robust engineering and creative fabrication solutions. Two Eighteen’s production team addressed the potential impact of humidity on materials by selecting aluminum beams for the pergolas instead of real wood. This foresight ensured structural integrity and longevity for the outdoor setting. Our skilled scenic artists then expertly faux-painted these aluminum structures to perfectly mimic the appearance of real wood, showcasing our commitment to both durability and aesthetic fidelity in custom event fabrication.
Execution: Bringing the Peruvian-Inspired Experience to Life.
Two Eighteen meticulously brought all custom elements of the AMEX Delta “World to Table” event to fruition. The essence of what an experiential activation is lies in these carefully crafted touchpoints that allow guests to engage with a brand in a memorable way:
Elevated Dining Areas: We constructed two stunning dining areas, each elevated two feet off the ground. These platforms featured elegant faux wood pergolas that were central to the Peruvian theme, creating an intimate and upscale atmosphere for the curated meal.
Custom Rope Canopy: Over 5,000 linear feet of 1.25” rope was artfully strung above the dining areas. Each rope was precisely cut to size, meticulously re-tied, and custom-dyed in our shop, forming a breathtaking overhead installation that enhanced the thematic ambiance and sensory experience.
Themed Vignettes & Photo Moments: To enrich the guest experience, Two Eighteen designed and fabricated numerous themed vignettes around the event space. This included a custom-designed photo opportunity bench, allowing guests to capture and share their unique experience, a key component of successful outdoor brand activations that encourage interaction.

Impact: Delivering an Exclusive and Memorable Brand Experience.
The AMEX Delta “World to Table” activation successfully transformed a farm setting into an exclusive, Peruvian-themed haven. Two Eighteen’s ability to execute complex custom designs and manage multifaceted production elements ensured that AMEX and Delta could provide their loyal card members with an exceptional and unforgettable token of appreciation. The careful attention to detail and innovative fabrication techniques resulted in a seamless and immersive environment—hallmarks of an effective experiential activation—that perfectly matched the client’s vision for a luxury event. This project highlighted how luxury event design can forge strong emotional connections.
